Notice of Smoke in the AirThe US Forest Service is set to begin a prescribed fire around the USFS Monument Fire Center, west of the Town of Monument. Burning is set for today through Friday (June 12-14th). All surrounding communities have been informed through their Firewise USA community leaders.Ignition is set to begin at 10:00 this morning through 1:00 in the afternoon. Smoke will be visible throughout the next three to five days. In addition to USFS crews, numerous fire departments will be assisting with monitoring and patrolling. The burn area is generally south of Red Rock Ranch and along Mt. Herman Road.
